Culver City's Carlson Park stands out as one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Culver City, renowned for its beautiful homes, tree-lined streets and exceptional living environment. Several factors contribute to its appeal. For one, the neighborhood's centerpiece is the picturesque Carlson Park. Carlson Park is a lush green area that hosts Shakespeare for Kids productions in the summer, birthday parties regularly hosted there for neighborhood children, community yoga classes, and on any given weekend, the park buzzes with families playing frisbee, enjoying picnics, and residents walking their dogs or jogging around the park's perimeter. Every Wednesday night (5-7p) you'll see a familiar pizza truck here at the park , Windsor Hills Pizza, and families tend to come bring their children and hang out with friends in the park for dinner. It becomes a destination on Wednesday nights for this reason and really brings the community together! Interestingly, this park lacks playground equipment, which many residents see as a positive! Fun historical fact, this charming locale once served as the Culver City Speedway, a car race track from 1924 to 1927, which explains the circular street layout originally designed for the race lanes. When the track was closed, part of its land was transformed into Culver City's first public park!
Carlson Park's charm is irresistible; its residents enjoy tree-lined streets and a close-knit community feel reminiscent of Mayberry, complete with holiday block parties featuring bouncy houses and food trucks during holidays like the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, and Labor Day.
The neighborhood's appeal is further boosted by its proximity to major tech employers like Apple, Amazon, and HBO, making it an ideal location for employees who prefer walking or biking to work. It's also the oldest neighborhood in Culver City where you can find beautiful Spanish and Craftsmen homes and is the closest in proximity to downtown Culver City. Our quaint downtown boasts vibrant destinations such as The Culver Steps with the new Erewhon, Bacari on Main Street and The Laurel Grill (great places to dine outdoors and people watch!) as well as the iconic Culver Hotel (famous for where the Munchkins stayed during the filming of The Wizard of Oz and apparently had a lively good time!) and local favorites like Akasha and Citizen Public Market, offering a vibrant dining and entertainment scene. There is a little neighborhood market that has served Carlson Park since 1929, and the area even has it's own public pool, The Culver City Plunge, right across Overland! Culver City boasts it's own award winning school district and police and fire department, enhancing the small town vibe and desirability. Overall, Carlson Park embodies a strong community spirit, making it a truly desirable place to live in Los Angeles. Our own Mayberry in the middle of the nations 2nd largest city! There is a reason why it's such a coveted location.
